This mapping tool forms part of our approach: to document, politicise and fight against digital infrastructure. We have already published a map of digital infrastructure in Marseille, as well as a report on the subject in collaboration with La Quadrature du Net.
Taking Marseille—the focus of our research and activism—as an example, it is clear that these infrastructures, in addition to engaging in various forms of territorial exploitation, represent a contemporary form of infrastructure of domination, serving the interests of digital capitalist corporations and acting as a tool of imperialist powers. Data centres are one of the material foundations of their deployment across all territories – and as such are key targets in the fight against their destructive dynamics.”
