“The name Power Tools is an attempt to reframe the “AI is just a tool” argument. If it’s a tool, than a tool for whom exactly? When generative AI’s top use cases appear to be surveillance, misinformation, persuasion and destroying institutions, we should challenge narratives that paint it as inevitable, a neutral technology or merely “progress.”
Through this project, I’ve met dozens of like-minded, thoughtful and caring people from all over the world. It’s reinforced in me the importance of community, that the only way we can push back against this age of dissonance, is by banding together.”
