This typology was created as a proposal for the INC Exit Fest 2026. The stickers and handout below were distributed there.
During a workshop on ‘AI refusal’ we discussed the different types of creative resistance in relation to AI. Some input was gathered there to improve the typology. A new version will be made soon.
The typology is created on the basis of Thomas Zenkl’s work on
AI, Algorithms, and Resistant Practices (Doctoral Thesis). We changed it, converged it into five types with short descriptions, and added literature references and example projects.
